Act!onHeat Training Programme 2022: Session 3 Webinar
The third and final session of the Act!onHeat Training Programme went into further details about the use of digital tools as an essential instrument for accelerating and improving the process of strategic H&C planning. Participants of this session were introduced to the user-friendly, open-source online software THERMOS, which enables address-level heat network planning. The complementary elements of two digital tools, THERMOS and Hotmaps, were outlined for a faster, more efficient, and more cost effective implementation of thermal projects.
Certification can be offered on demand. This requires watching the first and second sessions, having participated in session 3, and completing a case study afterwards. Please find the short and advanced versions of the exercise below:
Missed the third session? Watch the full recording here. You can also find the presentations of all speakers below.
- Juan Varo López (CREARA) on the integrated use of the free online tools Hotmaps and THERMOS
- Aadit Malla (TU Wien) on identification of areas interesting for district heating developments with the Hotmaps toolbox
- Martin Holley (CSE) on the THERMOS software for optimised thermal network planning online
The training programme is part of the EU-funded ActionHeat Project including partners from Fraunhofer ISI, e-think, Creara, CSE — Centre for Sustainable Energy, Technische Universität Wien, eclareon, and ICLEI Europe.
